With over 30 years’ experience directly advocating for the Aboriginal Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) communities and as a descendant of a Waappa Burra man and a Kalkadoon woman, David brings huge insight and understanding into issues that affect these communities.
His expansive counselling experience together with his work as a Family Dispute Practitioner has also seen him work with many families & individuals of ethnic as well as white Australian backgrounds.
His strong law background made him extremely invaluable to many legal staff & organisations, especially in providing support in the areas of domestic and family violence, family law child protection, child safety and criminal compensation. David worked directly with clients, and external agencies providing professional, sensitive, and responsive services. His territory covered all areas of Queensland coastal and bush regions including the townships of Cloncurry, Julia Creek, Camooweal, Normanton, Bourketown, Doomadgee, Mornington Island, Dajarra, Boulia and Birdsville.
He is a passionate, consciousness, confidant, lateral thinker with strong professional ethics and wealth of background experience as well as solid qualifications in his chosen craft. He’s a proud Father and Grandfather who will always advocate for the rights of the child as well as the abused.
David is a straight shooter and operates with respect, kindness, and complete honesty and absolutely no BS! He will help you address the issues you need to address, and if you do what he tells you to do, will work collaboratively with you to get the results that you need to get to lead a better and more productive life.
As a skilled Hypnotherapist & NLP Coach, David applies these techniques when required to his counselling practice. His skill set is vast and expansive in his areas of specialisation.
Counselling services are available online and well as face-to-face. David is also available for a free 15 minute “discovery” call by appointment.
David enjoys a great working collaboration with Dr Manu and his North Blackwater General Practice in Central Queensland where he travels and practices twice a month. He is also the Resident Counsellor for Raise Your Vibe Now, a wellness centre in Jindalee Brisbane.
