Forest Therapy, stepping into nature’s rhythm and ways
Forest Therapy is a preventative health practice originating in Japan in the 1980’s. Called Shinrin yoku (which translates to forest bathing), it is an evidence based practice, of guided immersion in nature, supporting our mental and physical health by tapping into the therapy of the forest.
Undoubtedly, our daily experiences of living in urban and fast paced environments impact our mood, emotions and stress levels. The mental and physical health benefits that Forest Therapy provides can improve our daily life, bringing us into a more positive mood and making us happier.
Forest Therapy has been proven to reduce blood pressure, cortisol levels and anxiety and depression. It can also strengthen our immune function.
On a Forest Therapy walk you will be guided to connect with nature as we traverse a gentle trail, receiving as we do the natural medicine of the forest.
A certified Forest Therapy guide takes the responsibility of guiding the walk, so you can simply enjoy being in the moment.
